Seeing is Believing

“In many ways, we were the most illogical family to invest in a destination club. We own a second home and, after years of practice, have become quite good at getting the right suite at the right hotels for the right price. And so, we were very skeptical when a friend - a Solstice member - told us that we should join.

And then we saw the Telluride place. It was, in a word, fabulous. But being the cynical, world—weary people we are, we thought ‘oh, we get it, this is the one great house - the loss leader’but the others have to be pretty ordinary, right?”

Wrong. We then saw the St Bart’s house. Incredible. At the top of a hill, at the end of a road, looking over the harbour, with a glass wall separating the pool from the dining room, so that one could swim, see through the dining room and over the harbour.

And so it went. Each of the houses is spectacular. Beautifully designed, built, and finished. They feel like home. Or, more accurately, homes. Very, very nice homes. And the service is impeccable.

Solstice Has Been Priceless

“Our family (spouse and 2 daughters ages 15 and 11) love to travel, particularly to international destinations. Our love of travel is the reason we have never bought a second home-we would feel ‘compelled’ to visit the same destination with regularity to the point that it breeds too much familiarity-no matter how spectacular the location. We never seriously considered (for all the usual reasons) a destination club until we became aware of Solstice through a good friend. As a real estate lawyer, I am naturally cautious but after doing my homework we took the leap and we could not be more pleased. The most important considerations for us were service and quality and Solstice has exceeded my very high expectations on both counts. More importantly, my family is thrilled. We stayed at the Florence property over Christmas and New Years this past year and it was amazing. The location in a building designed by Michelangelo or Vasari (accounts differ) right on the Piazza della Signoria was amazing. The three second floor balconies open directly on to the Piazza from a 3000 sq ft villa with 20’ frescoed ceilings. Walk out the front door and you open the door to history. As is the case with all real estate, location is the absolute key and Florence demonstrated to our family that Solstice ‘gets it’ when it comes to location. We have also stayed at the Napa property and were enthralled with the location and setting. The other key consideration for our family was service and attention to detail to ensure a stress free travel experience and again Solstice has delivered. We have been very pleased with our ‘lifestyle specialists’ at Solstice who have helped us plan several amazing and memorable experiences. Most importantly, they are accessible as we travel so that changes can be made, literally, on the fly. We will be staying at one of the two Aspen properties and in Telluride this summer and I am looking forward to another stress free experience in amazing homes in great destinations. What price can a family put on memories of travel together? I do not know, but I know for our family, like the credit card commercial tag line, Solstice has been priceless.”
